With the growth of the skiing industry, Saint Jean d'Aulps has become an important winter sports resort destination. It offers many natural advantages for skiers and snowboarders, including the famous Roc d'Enfer circuit. The ski resort has an excellent snow record, and is an integral part of the Portes du Soleil.

The resort of La Grande Terche lies just above St Jean D'aulps and has 40km of skiing available - the apartment building "Le Grand Cerf" is a short ski away from the bubble lift that conveys you to the top of the Grande Terche which offers skiing suitable for familes and beginners - away from the rush of some of the more crowded "motorway" slopes.

Altitude : 950/1800 metres; Roc d'Enfer Tour : 20 kms

20 slopes : 4 green runs, 5 blue runs, 10 red runs, 1 black run

14 skilifts : 1 gondola, 3 chairlifts, 10 draglifts

For the more experienced or adventurous skier the resort of Morzine/Avoriaz is around 15 minutes drive away as is the Ardent lift - both of which offer quick access to over 650km of linked skiing in the Portes du Soleil.

La Grande Terche has several bars/restaurants which offer a variety of local and international cuisine.

Our apartment in Le Grand Cerf is a 2-storey, 3 bedroomed, 2 bathroom unit completed in 2005, it has a large kitchen and lounge area. We can sleep between 6 and 9 depending upon how cosy you want to be. The apartment is fully equipped with satellite TV, PS2 (bring your own memory card and games if you can), washing machine, fridge, microwave, oven, hob, CD player and iron/board.
